Senior Medical Writer (Website Content)

Locations: London or Chester

Due to expansion and growth, Springer Healthcare requires a Senior Medical Writer with a flexible approach and creative flair. You will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of engaging editorial content and proposals, including training materials, website content, posters and more and no two days are the same!  You’ll also enjoy being the main editorial/scientific point of contact, building and maintaining relationships with industry experts, 3rd-party vendors, freelancers and internal stakeholders.  This is an exciting and varied role where you will use your broad scientific knowledge, and creativity to concoct ingenious solutions for our global clients, with an excellent career path.

 

Key responsibilities

Create a wide range of scientific content meeting the agreed brief, and even challenging with your own innovative solutions.  

  • Collaborate with Project Management and global Sales teams take clear and agreed proposals from clients including content, formats, deadlines, authors and stakeholders
  • Provide clear briefs to medical writers and freelancers and review draft content
  • Act as Lead Writer on accounts
  • Be the main point of contact on matters of scientific content for clients, Experts and internal stakeholders
  • Apply therapeutic area knowledge and writing flair to creatively contribute to business development opportunities including proposals and pitches
  • Offer and challenge ideas in briefing and brainstorming sessions
  • Contribute in client meetings and pitches as the scientific representative of Springer Healthcare
  • Line management of junior members of editorial team as may be required

  

Skills/Experience

Essential

  • A biomedical degree (or extensive equivalent experience)
  • Creative writing experience in a communications agency, medical advertising , PR pharmaceutical industry or related healthcare industries
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Top ideas and willing to suggest alternative solutions to clients
  • Comprehensive reviewing experience
  • Management of freelancers including briefing and communication
  • Ability to create good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Desirable

  • A higher degree in a biomedical discipline, ideally MSc or PhD

 Travel requirements

  • Some International and national travel as required
