This is an exciting new opportunity involving work across both pharmaceutical and not-for-profit drug development spaces. At least 50% of your time would be dedicated to our not-for-profit account within the field of malaria eradication, with the remaining 50% allowing you to get involved in medical communications accounts in multiple therapy areas and build experience in a wide range of deliverables (for example, publications, eLearning, virtual meetings and Podcasts).

For the malaria account, you will be the primary writer, supporting the development of large donor reports for existing funders, annual funding applications as well as advocacy pieces to engage new donors in efforts to eradicate malaria.  In addition, we also support the development of ad hoc  research grants  involving multiple international stakeholders and researchers in the field of malaria. You will lead most large projects, drawing on the current teams’ experience, and collaborate on other projects across Nucleus Global to help manage workflow.

The remaining 50% of your role will focus on editorial support for global medical communications accounts within the SciMentum team, across a broad range of therapy areas and deliverable types. Working with international pharmaceutical clients you will gain insights into medical and commercial strategy development; how strategic thinking translates into impactful communications and lead the development of materials for a wide range of audiences.  With an inhouse digital and design department, you will also get the opportunity to work on virtual meetings, innovative digital solutions and remain at the forefront of medical communication trends. You will participate in client meetings, attend scientific meetings and participate in pre-meetings, onsite activities and post-meeting work. This mix of academic not-for-profit work, combined with cutting edge medical communications for large pharma is a unique opportunity to learn fast, and carve out a strong career path.

To succeed, you will have a degree in the life sciences, ideally combined with a PhD or MSc and strong therapeutic experience. You will also have previous relevant medical communications or marketing writing experience (agency or pharmaceutical). Experience in the areas of infectious diseases, parasitology or malaria, with experience of writing funding and research grant applications is desirable.  You will also be able to work well independently and within a team and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

In addition to a competitive salary and benefits package we are happy to talk flexible working, Nucleus are known for our friendly and informal working environment with Friday socials across all our offices, regular wellbeing weeks, and Town Hall events. We also offer excellent opportunities for career and personal development, including opportunities to transfer your skills to our other offices around the world.
