As part of our expanding operation in the UK, we’re looking for a Principal Medical Writer keen to take on a diverse role, working across a broad range of therapeutic areas. The team also welcome applications from Senior Medical Writers ready for your next step!

This is a full time, permanent role which can be based in our London, Chester or Knutsford office. We are currently working remotely, but you will be expected to work 2-3 days a week on site in the office once reopened. 


You’ll be leading and managing the delivery of scientific content across a range o fmedical communications as well as coaching and mentoring junior writers. You''ll act as the main point of contact for our clients and external experts. You’ll love adding your creative flair to the strategic marketing of pharmaceuticals to publication plans and/or communication programmes. You’ll also enjoy being part of a very collaborative team and sharing ideas and attending new business pitches, as well as occasionally travelling to events and congresses when appropriate and as required.


Key duties:

·        Advise Senior Scientific Team Leader(s) and/or Scientific Services Director(s) about editorial resource requirements

·        Review scientific content for a range of medical communications

·        Provide full briefs and delegate editorial projects to Medical Writers and Associate Medical Writers

·        Liaise with clients and Account Managers

·        Collaborate with Senior Scientific Team Leader(s) and Scientific Services Director(s) on junior writers’ training needs and provide coaching and mentoring as required

·        Provide strategic and tactical advice to clients

·        Plan and execute publication plans

·        Manage events including advisory boards, symposia and webcasts

·        Provide support to the Business Development team and develop pitches and proposals

·        Offer editorial advice to the management team

·        Contribute to revenue targets

·        Help develop writers to achieve their full potential

·        Contribute to annual and mid-year performance reviews, as appropriate

·        Support team working principles across all the global inScience Communications group,as well as other departments and business units within the company


Person Specification


•            Life science degree

•            Strong writing experience in medical communications 

•           Experience reviewing/coaching 

•            Excellent client liaison and networking skills

•            Proven ability in all aspects of medical communication deliverables


•            Management or supervisory experience
