About the Department
You have the opportunity to join the medical education and events team, which is part of the marketing department in the UK/Ireland business area. As a member of the team of 3 you will be involved in shaping and implementing the medical education and events strategies and tactics for our current diabetes portfolio and future launch brands. 

The Job
This is a 12 month fixed term role covering a maternity leave.
Your key responsibilities will be the execution of the operational medical education plans and tactics for our field force in order to realise the potential of our diabetes portfolio, as well as delivery of programs which establish and communicate disease awareness and unmet needs in the field of diabetes. Typical tasks will include: project management of international and national medical education congress and meetings; development, management and implementation of regional and local ‘meetings in a box’, HCP roadshows and disease awareness programmes; management of medical education digital assets,key KOL, HCP and influencer relationship management and speaker briefings; and briefing and management of agencies/vendors. The role requires close engagement with all diabetes cross-functional brand teams, and the reporting and measurement of medical education activities. You will also be supporting tasks involving the provision of customer insight into our brand strategy and tactic development.

As customer centricity is one of our core values you will be required to undertake considerable domestic and international travel in order for you to deliver the various activities within the UK medical education plan and engage target customers and speakers across the country.

You can expect to be travelling approximately 80 days per year and as such your role is field based. To ensure development and approval of your plans and programmes and alignment with the wider marketing team and cross-functional extended brand teams you will be required to be in the Gatwick office 10-16 days per month.

You will have a degree or equivalent and ideally already passed your ABPI exam and have ZINC experience. A professional marketing qualification (or working towards one) is an advantage.

With previous experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative or in a customer facing role, it is essential that you have recent proven success in KOL/influencer liaison and development and delivery of regional/local level medical education events. You will also have a solid understanding of the NHS and have the ability to maintain and discuss therapeutic and clinical data.

Previous experience in delivering Pharmaceutical product management, preferably within diabetes would also be an advantage as is experience of digital/online platforms.

As medical education and events executive, you have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and strong, planning and project management skills with an aptitude for analysis and understanding of measuring return on investment.

We are seeking a strong team player and collaborator who brings ideas and creativity, yet is methodical and structured in their work. You must have a can-do attitude, be used to delivering against targets with the capability to manage several projects at the same time. The ability to remain flexible and adaptable when priorities change will be second nature to you.

At times, both domestic and international travel will be required so you must be willing to travel and have a valid driving licence. Fluency in spoken and written English is a pre-requisite.
