Medical Communications and Health Economics (with home based option)

Background:

Wickenstones is looking to bring in individuals with outstanding communication skills as well as a strong scientific and/or medical background who can help to produce high quality deliverables which communicate value stories clearly, accurately and persuasively, for our clients.

You will work with the senior leadership team of Wickenstones to:
  • Deliver exceptional quality reports, slide decks and other deliverables which answer complex questions for both specialised and lay audiences
  • Produce persuasive value materials such as leaflets and posters for payers and other healthcare professionals
  • Design market research materials such as questionnaires, aligning precisely with client need to enable the collection of valuable data
  • Write and/or edit papers for peer reviewed journals, adhering to academic writing protocols and the specific requirements of individual journals, whilst liaising productively with clients, co-authors and other stakeholders

About us Wickenstones is a fast-growing management consultancy with clients and colleagues all over the world. Our office is near Abingdon in South Oxfordshire, but we encourage home-based and flexible working. Therefore, experienced candidates will likely have the option to work either from the office or from home, or a combination of both.

Who we’re looking for

Skills and knowledge
  • PhD in a scientific or biomedical discipline (preferred)
  • Experience of authorship of technical documents (essential)
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and challenges of health technology assessment (preferred)
  • Excellent written English (essential)
  • Ability to speak and write in other languages would be an advantage
Personal attributes
  • Extremely well structured in their approach, and able to break down problems into bite-size chunks
  • Able to grasp complex issues quickly
  • Flexible and excited by complex questions
  • Direct and open to learning new skills
  • Prepared to work hard to meet ambitious deadlines and exceed clients’ expectations
