About the role:

You will work with the Editorial leadership team to manage, develop, resource, and oversee a team of Editorial Project Specialists to ensure the delivery of high-quality medical communications initiatives. You will maintain Fishawack''s expertise across electronic review/tracking programs through both direct account support and the training of colleagues, including Editorial Assistants.

You will oversee daily editorial support, providing direction to ensure that these services are engaged and delivered effectively. You''ll maintain overall editorial standards of the team for all external and internal documents. You will be responsible for personal project work, workload planning, training of junior staff, and maintenance of client/project status. You will assist with research to support proposals and project planning and implementation. What you''ll do

  • Train, mentor and oversee the workflow of Editorial Project Specialists and appropriate tasks for Editorial Assistants, serving as a resource for questions and/or employee contacts
  • Serve as a resource for questions about projects, providing the appropriate guidance and support to ensure projects stay on time and on budget
  • Manage and deliver the resourcing, scheduling, coordination, and reporting of project deliverables undergoing clients’ electronic review/tracking processes
  • Carefully verify project specifications to ensure accuracy, including scope of projects needing review, timelines, and client review processes
  • Communicate review processes and expectations clearly to the team, including changes in review schedule and key resources
  • Maintain an evolving knowledge of review/tracking software options and capabilities
  • Identify and evaluate software options to provide guidance to company and clients
  • Provide expertise and training in review/tracking software to clients when requested 
  • Regularly update project status database, team members, and agency and client review specialist contacts on broader developments
  • Work with the project team on a weekly basis to review projects and deadlines for projects in review

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree; degree in English or communications highly advantageous 
  • Ideally 4+ years’ publication support experience and 7+ years’ experience in the editorial process
  • Experience with project management, including financial oversight
  • Expertise in agency-standard electronic review systems, such as Zinc, Veeva Vault, and Datavision
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Proficiency in Internet and PubMed searches
  • Access to a dependable form of transportation as well as a valid driver’s license to attend offsite training meetings
