Your talent, our future. Excellence Connected

Are you passionate about science and get a buzz out of making the complex simple? If so, then we want to hear from you ….

At Ashfield Healthcare Communications we work together to improve lives. We develop award winning healthcare communication programmes that educate Healthcare Professionals and improve the lives of patients. We live by our values and that means being passionate about the talented people we work with, helping people build long and rewarding careers. This is the place to grow your career.

So, what is Allegro?

Allegro is a 12-month fast-track training and development programme for aspiring medical writers. Joining as an Associate Medical Writer, on a full-time contract, the initial 2 months of the programme is training focused, providing you with all the core skills required to work in the healthcare communications industry. On completion of the 2-month curriculum, Allegro writers then undertake two 5-month rotations in our industry-leading agencies, working with talented people to hone your writing skills and develop your knowledge of our clients and services. Upon successful completion of the Allegro programme, you will join an agency team full-time as a Medical Writer. The initial training phase of the programme is based in Macclesfield, but rotation opportunities are also available in Witney and Maidenhead.

What experience do I need?

To be considered for the role you must have a 2:1 in a Life Sciences degree. No previous writing experience is necessary: Ashfield provides extensive training, development and mentoring. As one of our writers you’ll benefit from a clear path for advancement, diverse project work, very competitive salary and benefits, and opportunities to travel the world.

What’s the recruitment process?

You will need to apply online with a CV and cover letter; your cover letter must include a 250 word or less rationale about why you want to become a medical writer at Ashfield Healthcare Communications.

Our next Assessment Centre will be on the 11th & 12th of November in our Macclesfield office. The day is by invite only and before the Assessment Centre you will be asked to complete an on-demand video interview. On the day itself, we will ask you to complete a writing test, undertake group activities and attend an interview. If successful, the role will begin in January 2020.
