Background:

Evidera’s Market Access Communications team interprets and communicates the clinical and economic evidence that our pharmaceutical/life sciences clients require to successfully market their products. Our services include dossiers and slide decks that provide healthcare decision-makers with the evidence they need to evaluate new medical treatments, targeted literature-based white papers on diseases and treatments, and reports from payer advisory boards.

The Associate Director/ Director role is an ideal opportunity for someone already working in market access or a related field, such as medical communications or medical education, to develop a career in a leading consultancy in the market access environment.

Role and Responsibilities
  • We are looking for an Associate Director/Director to join our growing Market Access Communications team based out of our London office. In this role, you will be working closely with the leadership of the unit, the focus being excellence in project delivery, combined with staff development and management.  A significant contribution to business development activities is also expected.  The role also includes contributing to the overall growth and strategic direction of the Market Access Communications unit, building company-wide relationships with other senior Evidera staff, and responsibility for key client relationship management and thought leadership. 
  • Hands-on leadership of projects allocated according to availability, client familiarity or history, and disease area knowledge.
  • Supervise all activities required for successful project execution (client handling, content review, project management, staff coordination).
  • Originate content as required, particularly for those tasks requiring senior input e.g. value story, market access strategy, payer concerns.
  • Take overall responsibility for successful project delivery (quality, timeliness, client satisfaction and financial performance).
  • Work with the leadership team to ensure appropriate allocation of staff to projects. Participate in regular workflow planning meetings to facilitate this.
  • Line management of selected writers in the team (coaching, mentoring, monitoring development needs, conducting quarterly informal appraisals and annual appraisals).
  • Build and maintain new and existing client relationships to ensure sufficient sales to meet the group’s performance targets.
  • Write proposals and manage follow-up communications with clients.
  • Identify opportunities for selling across Evidera practices – either collaborative projects involving dossiers and other offerings, or stand-alone projects for any practice.
Skills and Experience
 
Essential
  • Very strong experience in agency or consultancy environment in a medical writing role
  • Understanding of market access and experience of developing value dossiers
  • Experienced project leader, both in a client-facing role and as a within-project manager of people
  • Ability to align deliverables with a client’s strategic objectives
  • Experience of mentoring more junior writers, based on a strong foundation of market access experience, technical writing ability and research and analysis skills
  • Proven ability to manage projects to budget and timelines across therapy areas
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and drug development process
  • Familiarity with clinical trial design and statistics
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Desirable
  • Basic understanding of health economics
  • Familiarity with EndNote/Reference Manager
  • Experience of using SharePoint or other electronic platforms
Education

Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare preferred, eg, PhD, MSc, MPH, MD, PharmD
