Medical Publications Manager

Background:
Edge Medical Communications are seeking a publications plan manager with a minimum of 2 years of publication plan management experience gained within the medical communications industry coupled with a biomedical science degree and PhD. Expertise in either COPD or diabetes therapy area is essential. A CMPP qualification is also desirable. 

You will be responsible for the publication planning and delivery of publications working closely with the Account Director(s), medical writers, clients and authors. The management responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, management of publication activities such as development, submission and successful publication of manuscripts, congress abstracts, posters, and slide sets, with the goal of ensuring completion of high-quality, peer-reviewed publications on schedule and to the satisfaction of our clients. The successful candidate must have expertise in writing of advisory board reports as this will form a key part of your role.  The publications manager will oversee the selection of, and contract responsibilities with, any third parties such as freelancers, and ensure that the work is implemented according to Edge’s quality standards, delivered to programme deadlines and to measurable programme objectives. The manager will work to industry guidelines and codes of practice such as GPP2 and ABPI, keep abreast of updates, and proactively inform staff/clients of the implications of any alterations to these codes.
